Gatecrashing
At first I thought I was imagining things when (during a bout of leg/foot numbness) my left hand decided to join in. It's not a party you know hand! Yer names not daaahn, yer not cammin in!

Ring my bell...
My left foot and left leg (up to the knee) now want to play silly buggers and go numb/tingly for a couple of hours each time. This happens 1-2 times per week, usually on an evening now. It's getting on my nerves but I put it down to overdoing it at the gym (I'm a gym bunny ya see!).
The tinnitus is in many ways harder to cope with than the deafness to be honest. I've learnt to lip read quite well but nothing stops the annoying ringing, whooshing and hissing sounds that now feature largely into my days (and nights!).

My Left Foot
Keep banging into things as feel tres unbalanced nowadays. My favourite line is "Oops! I'm pissed again!" (quite ironic since I hardly ever drink!). I just put the dizziness and inability to balance down to my hearing being knackered. I'm told it could affect my balance you see. What with the constant tinnitus I'm suffering (which is all part and parcel of the hearing loss, oh the joys!). Rather embarassing when I stumble over at my regular Body Combat Classes each week though!
My left foot keeps going completely "dead" and lasts about an hour or two. Strange.

Funny Girl
Lost my hearing quite noticeably in both ears.
Went to GP who performed simple hearing test which confirmed loss (moderate to severe on both sides).
Referred to ENT Specialist who did more thorough testings and due to the nature of my "funny" hearing loss (yes, they did actually say it was "funny" being an apparently odd kind of hearing loss, especially for a fit and healthy 34 year old).
Sent me for an MRI of the brain (Eureka! They found one hehe!).
Results came back "clear" as no Acoustic Neuroma was detected (apprently that was what they imagined could've caused my specific "funny" hearing loss).
Diagnosed with Bilateral Sensourinal Hearing Loss.
Hearing Aid fitted (which I wore about 5 times as it didn't do anything but enhance background noises). The meeting I had to attend regarding the hearing aid was an experience as the averag age of people there was about seventy. Talk about feeling like a fish out of water, I got some very strange looks hehe!
